Hello to You

Hello! My name is Andriana Duncanson and welcome to my blog.

I'm an Art Student majoring here at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, with a minor in Art history. I was born and raised here for 19 winters (though soon I'll be 20 in March), and I have a big passion for art, fashion, and design.

I've had an interest in art since I was a little girl. It spoke to me since I was less than 7, and I've been enamored with it ever since. I used to start out making crappy collages and stickmen comics with characters from all sorts of franchises, from Marvel to Disney, until eventually, I wanted to make my own stories and my own characters, and ever since my older brother funded me with my first art tablet back in 2018, it's been my love ever since.

When I think of art now, I think of how integral I find it to everyday life, and especially my own. Art is my way to calm down, express, and dissect the feelings I can't quite put into words. Art to me has always been this fluid experience, and it's something I'm always interested in exploring. I think exploration in itself is part of the art.

Relationship-wise, I play with art in different ways: the primary ones being digital, drawing, printmaking, and painting. While I haven't declared my specialties yet, I love storyboarding, concept work, and character design, and I mainly lean towards digital illustration, though these recent years I've been trying my hand with the more traditional mediums. While I've never been much of a Museum-Goer, I've been online many times and fallen in love with many gorgeous pieces. I'm inspired by works like kirariin's. Who is a character designer and artist for one of my favorite game studios.

I'm also inspired by another artist by the name of CrownedSaeraph. My current favorite piece of theirs features their two characters Kraune and Akaiye. It's a wonderful style, and I'm particularly in love with the warm undertones of their digital painting style.

Art is a love to me, and it's a comfort, and I aim for that to be the main feeling of this blog. I hope to be seeing you, and sharing that feeling, too.

  2. Interesting. The work you featured by kirariln is titled "Dante Alighieri". He was a real person, and is considered one of the founding fathers of humanism, which we will study in the Italian Renaissance section.

  3. I love that you do digital art, I've always been so fascinated with that method because it looks super hard to make things digitally so I totally give you props! I am trying to get more into art and to learn and try new mediums, I'm excited to see what you show us!
